Solar and batteries
Wave Consulting undertakes feasibility projects of solar and battery options across Australia.
There are now 3 million homes and businesses with solar panels across Australia. But there are over 12 million homes, and between 100,000 and 250,000 new homes are built every year.
The future is renewable: solar array solutions
We analyse individual houses, precincts, factories, even whole communities and towns, for potential solar array solutions that will be critical to the transition to a zero-emissions community.
Our approach is to look at the solar exposure (or irradiance as it is technically known), current and future electricity demands, and the costs and benefits of a solar and battery system at a specific site.
As the owner/manager of a building, our work will help you determine and highlight:
how big a solar system should be
the value of adding a battery
the payback period
the benefit of energy efficiency (in addition to considering solar)
any rebates on offer.
We use a combination of custom-built and industry models to ensure all relevant factors are considered in this process.
We assume that solar systems coupled with a move to net zero homes and all-electric homes increases the value of this investment.
queenscliffe community battery study
The Borough of Queenscliffe is the smallest local government area in Victoria. But it might have one of the biggest sustainability goals for reducing emissions.
Solar panels with lots of shade case study
How effective will solar panels be for a property with trees that shade the panels? And is it a worthwhile financial investment?
Community energy and neighbourhood battery case studies
How feasible are neighbourhood batteries and microgrids?
“Rob and the team have been great to work with on neighbourhood battery initiatives in Victoria. They always are extremly flexible in catering for the varied requirements of volunteers (i.e. us at Clean Energy Nillumbik), our community/residents, and people with a ‘day-job’ in this area (i.e. State Government, local council, academics). This flexibility is backed by genuine interest - it shows.”
